What is up with computers not having USB ports or this one saying in Spanish that the device is restricted! Ah! This is becoming frustrating, we really want to post pictures with the message but that is just not happening....
Anywho, we are currently hanging out in Barcelona. We had an early, early morning of traveling (2:55 am flight) and hit the ground running in Barcelona at 7 am. There is longer story you will here later about that adventure.
Greece was the perfect place to end our trip with the Traveling Aggies. We spent 3 incredible nights on the island of Poros and half a day in Athens. We hit the beach in Poros immediately upon arrival. Herbie said the record was 22 seconds from off the boat, up to the room, and down to the beach. Our hotel was right on the beach and some lucky ones had a beautiful ocean side view. We had a sweet setup, there was the beach and the ocean at the front of the hotel and a great pool and bar in the back of the hotel. We had a great welcome dinner of pork gyros and greek salad! Greek has been some of our favorite food on the trip!
The next day we had more than enough options of stuff to do. There were water sports, para- sailing, biking, four-wheeling, shopping down town, a lamb lunch, and hanging out on the beach or pool. Banana boating was the most dangerous options of them all, there were eyes kicked, backs rammed, and mouths kneed. But no worries, everyone still had a smile on their face...with ice. Overall the day was a very needed relaxation day. We just soaked up the Grecian sun. Yes, Kevin is getting tan except for his lower back that Julie missed!
Our last full day in Poros consisted of our normal delicious breakfast that was served on our outdoor patio overlooking the ocean. We took an old Greek fishing boat around the island of Poros. It was a perfect afternoon. It was full of sailing, swimming, eating lunch on the boat, and more. Bortka almost got a concussion swimming under the boat, and Kevin, Demetrius (A Greek friend), Herbie, and Bortka raced around the boat with a beer on their heads. Bortka with his newly flattened head made it fully around the rocking boat without spilling a drop. We capped off the day in true Greek style with a toga party! Pictures will give you a better idea of the night.
Finally we boated over to sweltering Athens and immediately climbed up the Acropolis. It was brutually hot up there. The white marble shined brightly making it about 35 degree celsius. That is about 100 degrees farenheit! Needless to say our time up there was short and sweet at the Acropolis. The rest of our tour was done in a semi-air conditioned bus around Athens. We had a few hours to check out the huge market place and cool down at our hotel before our last group dinner. We ended with another great gyros dinner. We stayed up with the group that had a 2am wake up call and sadly said goodbye to them at 3 am. After traveling 25 days with each other we had become very close and we hope to keep up with these new friendships!
