Traveling Aggies

When the said we are the traveling Aggies they sure weren`t kidding. After spending 3 nights in Paris where we explored the Louvre, led a Fightin´ Texas Aggie yell practice on a river cruise on the Seine, and much more we departed for Amsterdam.

All the days have been going so fast that they´ve blurred into a mass of bus rides, quick tourist stops, and socializing. On the way to the Netherlands we made a quick hour and a half stop in Brussels, plenty of time right? Besides the amazing waffles, the highlight was probably a statue in the middle of the city that represents their freedom. You´ll never guess what it was...a little boy taking a leak! Forgot stars and stripes or statues of liberty, nothing stands for freedom more than being able whip out your pecker and take a leak!

We then made our way to a very nice golf country club nestled in the Dutch country side about 20 minutes outside of Amsterdam. It was an amazing set up, with large rooms, hot breakfast, and FREE internet! We then had an interesting night out in Amsterdam full of food, music, and the infamous Red Light District. Despite the reputation, the red light district in Amsterdam is something you have to see to believe, it truly is the definition of sin city.

On our one full day we went on an awesome bike ride through a Dutch fishing village, toured a cheese and wooden shoes factory, and enjoyed the Heineken experience! All were amazing, but the Heineken experience was extemely well laid out, with interactive displays including a 3D ride where we were "brewed" and a tutorial in how to taste beer.

In the afternoon the atmosphere was much different as we went to the Anne Franke house. It truly was a surreal experience, walking the very rooms where Anne Franke had to hide from the Nazi´s. My words cannot come even close to giving it its due credit.

We then had some excellent Indonesian cuisine and a beautiful river cruise. Amsterdam is a beautiful city that feels like a town, almost like a small Venice. It was beautiful, much too short a time before we had to pack up that night and hit the road by 7 a.m. for Heidelberg, Germany!
